Community guidelines
Help create a useful, respectful place for people working toward safer exploration and production operations.
- Be respectful. Discuss ideas constructively. Harassment, discrimination, and personal attacks have no place here.
- Protect confidentiality. Do not share personal information, attendee lists, proprietary procedures, or identifiable incident details without authorization.
- Share experience responsibly. Be clear about context and limitations. A discussion does not replace qualified advice, applicable requirements, or your employer’s procedures.
- Keep it useful. Ask clear questions, credit sources, and avoid spam or repetitive sales pitches.
- Respect moderation. The MCEPS owner can hide content, close topics, or pause access. Contact the board if you need a moderation review.
Membership and privacy
Verified sign-in activates a first MCEPS membership and opens discussions automatically. Signing in does not record an explicit guidelines or communication-notice acknowledgment, subscribe you to email, list your profile, or send messages. Previous withdrawal and suspension remain in effect; returning after withdrawal requires your deliberate Rejoin action.
Forums and directory profiles are members-only. Directory participation is optional and starts off. Your display name appears with posts, even if you stay out of the directory. Your ChatGPT email is available to MCEPS administration for your membership, and is never included in the member directory.
Eligible directory names link to members-only profiles. Connections with other members require acceptance. A connection request contains no private message; the recipient must accept before either member can send messages. Private conversations are visible only to the two connected, active members. Blocking closes requests and messages in both directions. Unblocking, rejoining or restoring access never reopens a previous connection. Forum contributions stay visible for continuity.
Active members have a separate Community owner connection for membership support, labeled Added automatically. It creates no acceptance record or message, does not change directory sharing, and respects blocks, disconnects and inactive membership. The owner sees active member coverage through existing administration rights, and cannot use this channel to read other members' conversations. You can disconnect or block the owner channel. Reporting a received private message requires a separate acknowledgment. MCEPS moderation receives only the selected message text, sender display name, timestamp and your reason. Owners cannot browse general private conversations. No email notifications are sent for connections or messages.
Leaving hides your directory profile and ends community access. Existing contributions stay in member discussions for continuity; you may remove your own contributions before leaving. Removed content is hidden and retained for moderation recovery.
Contact and meeting sign-in forms are separate from community membership. They never create a profile or enroll you.
